UNIVERSITY PUBLISHING RECOGNIZED FOR PRINTING EXCELLENCE
The Washington State University Office of University Publishing has received four awards for printing excellence in the recent In-Print 2011 national competition sponsored by In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) and In-Plant Graphics.
IPMA is a national organization for in-house publishing professionals with members from public and private universities as well as Fortune 500 companies. The awards for printing excellence were based on close examination of printed pieces by expert judges. More than 400 publications were submitted and the judges picked 75 winners.
University Publishing won a gold award for the Imagine Tomorrow flyer, a silver award for the 2010 Viewbook, a bronze award for the 2010 LandEscapes, and a bronze award for the Convocation Program and Bookmark.
"Certainly it is rewarding for the University Publishing staff to receive recognition and affirmation for their quality craftsmanship on a national level," said Mary Read, director of University Publishing. "But these awards also reflect the underlying quality and high standards of our communications partners throughout the university. We appreciate the opportunity to render their inspiration and ideas into finished publications."
"These awards are a testament to the skill level and dedication of our production staff," said Steve Rigby, director of printing. "All of our staff members work together as a team to ensure that the quality of Washington State University is evident in everything we do."
